IGCSE Syllabus Option:  Parents of Grades 6, 7 & 8 (2011-12) are requested to attend the Orientation Programme on IGCSE / Cambridge International Examinations (CIE) Curriculum available to Grades 7 & above students (for 2012-13) on Saturday, 21^st April, 2012.

 Mr. P. Shanmugam, HOD (Mathematics)-cum-IBDP Coordinator (Cell # 9948085581) will brief you on the IGCSE curriculum and its importance towards IBDP after completing IGCSE (at the end of Grade 10).

IGCSE classes for Grades 7 & above for the academic year 2012-13 will begin from  11^th June, 2012.  The Parents who wish to opt for this curriculum for their wards are requested to register for the same before 16^th April, 2012.  This will enable the school to prepare and execute the administrative plan for 2012-13.

Almost everyone feels nervous before an exam. Butterflies in the stomach and worrying thoughts – ‘Will I be able to answer the questions?’ ‘Have I done enough revision?’ – are indications of exam nerves that are probably familiar to all students. In fact, a certain amount of nervous tension probably helps us perform to the best of our ability, producing a rush of adrenaline that helps us to feel alert and focused. But too much anxiety can BLOCK thoughts, create a negative frame of mind, and lead to panic and potentially poor exam performance.

The session threw light upon ways on how students can identify, prepare and manage exam stress. The few Anxiety management techniques which were introduced to them include:

• Thought stopping
• Tactile Distraction
• Focusing
• Self talk
• Visualization
• Breathing, etc

It turned out to be a productive and an interactive session where the kids were enthusiastic about solving there queries and also related themselves to a lot of situations mentioned in the session in regard to the common exam anxiety experiences.The children also got to share their fears and anxieties with the other kids present and the session worked as a common ground to come up and get tips on the management of exam stress.
